Free unveiled Siphon v1.1, a SIP software enabling iPhone owners to use the network Freephonie.

The service allows Free subscribers having an iPhone or an iPod Touch to have phone calls via VOIP, unlimited, in all the Freephonie allowed area.

The software from Free has started from the work of the Touchmods team.

This service will be extended to all iPhone owners worldwide, even non Free subscribers, in the following weeks

The requirements to be able to use this service :

  • Have a jailbreaked iphone with the Installer.app application installed.
  • The iphone firmware should be 1.1.2 or 1.1.3
  • Enable SSH on the iPhone to be able to modify access rights of the application before launching it.
